The
proposed visit is an encounter over a space of 350 m² with the Curé d'Ars, in his village
(Ars sur Formans, Ain), with his parishioners, from 1789 to
1859. In a reconstruction of the original decor,
in 17 scenes including 35 human size figures.
Over a wide area :
350 m², this moving museum allows children and adults to gain
historical, artistic and human knowledge in a surrounding
which leaves nobody untouched.
The life of J.M. Vianney evolved under exceptional circumstances
: 3 revolutions, 2 coup d'etat, 2 periods of terror marked
French history between 1786 and 1859, with violent anti-religious
periods.
The production of the wax-figures was executed by the Grevin
museum workshop.
The visitor discovers in an "encounter" the destiny
of a man who inspires us by his simplicity, renouncing prejudice and restoring hope and confidence.
